Writing from Charlotte...
My wife and I are in Charlotte visiting her fam. We came for the 4th which was good company and good grub. Tomorrow we're heading to Chicago to find a place to live. Then next Monday, the movers come...crazy. I'm pumped about the new job and can't wait to get started.
Saw a couple of movies this past week. Last Wednesday, a buddy and I went to see War of the Worlds. I'm glad we went to the 6:30 show because when we came out the line was out the front door of the theater. The movie itself was pretty darn good- however pretty disturbing. I don't recall seeing a recent movie in which so many people died. In that first scene of mayhem, I was slack-jawed and couldn't believe what I was seeing. Bloodless mayhem is a rarity, but it was perhaps more freaky then any scene of bloody gore could have been.
Then a couple of days ago I went with Lauren's fam to see Batman. I had pretty high expectations from my brother's rave reviews but I have to say that it still surpassed what I expected. Great characters, great action. By far my favorite Batman actor and film. From seeing the prerelease stills, I thought the Batmobile was gonna be cheezy. But I gotta say it was pretty sweet in action.
Heading to lunch now with a buddy from SCAD who hails from Charlotte, so I gotta jet. If you got a sec check out the great thread on CG Talk with the very insightful and witty Victor Navone.
